Ninety Degree x Husla

Ninety Degree x Husla

The collaboration of Ninety Degree and HUSLA was an obvious one for us both. We worked together to manufacture one of the first pieces of apparel for his range, which has now extended into apparel and equipment.

Jase. Well known in Melbourne’s south-east as a hard working, driven guy, more commonly known as- The founder of HUSLA. If you can get him to sit still for 5 minutes- you've done well.

I’ve known Jase for a while, having founded HUSLA in 2018, I saw him quickly grow his small business. Our friendship grew closer as Ninety Degree began its journey a short 2 years later.

The collaboration of Ninety Degree and HUSLA was an obvious one for us both. We worked together to manufacture one of the first pieces of apparel for his range, which has now extended into apparel and equipment.

Experiencing the ups and downs of a starting a new business I was able to work close with Jase and see his ideas and concepts come into fruition-  and grow into what it has become today.
I was lucky enough (to get Jase to sit still for five minutes) and chat about his journey, his peaks and troughs and what lead him and his team to where they are today.

What is HUSLA and what separates you from the next line of coaches?

HUSLA is an online coaching platform.

Coaching aside, I think what separates us is our community. When you become a HUSLA you become part of our team of like-minded driven individuals. Our coaches are what separates us, we create a safe and comfortable environment for anyone.
We are 100% sure anyone can talk to us about anything. The last thing we want to be is a bunch of hard-ass coaches, we are supportive coaches!

When did you start HUSLA and why?

25/06/2018 was the start date of this online coaching movement. In September 2019 (1 year later) I rebranded as HUSLA and hired my first coach (my best mate Marcus)

There’s no fancy story about why I started HUSLA. I loved the gym and have since I started when I was 15 years old. It’s the only thing I had stuck at for years consistently. I knew my future had something to do with coaching.

At what point through coaching did you realise you were on to something bigger?

I loved online coaching from day 1.

I think I realised I was onto something bigger when I hired Marcus and Cam as coaches. When I realised, I was extremely interested in not only coaching, but running and building a business. That’s what brought me here to Ninety Degree.

HUSLA is expanding to more than just an online coaching service, If I didn’t realise I was capable of something bigger then we would still be purely a coaching business with no plans to grow.

What did you wish you knew before you started the business to help your younger self out?
  • Dream bigger
  • Wake up earlier
  • Train later
  • Be productive between waking up and training
  • I wasn’t scared to ask questions

I encourage anyone to ask questions. If you have to pay by the hour to get advice from your mentor then do it. Business can be dark, together you can survive, don’t do it alone.

What does having a great community in your business mean to you?

Everything.
The community is our biggest asset as a business. We strive to ensure that our community is supportive, like a team.

Imagine you are unmotivated and you’re in a team of people who are feeling the same as you. Then there are also people -killing it.
You have people to relate to,  and people who can motivate you. While these people may be different, ultimately, they all have the same goal -  progression.

Community is so important to us because it makes it easy for people to succeed
